VCDL President to speak at Tea Party gathering on the Peninsula on Saturday *************************************************************** I have been invited to be a keynote speaker at a Tea Party rally held by the Peninsula Patriots. It is this Saturday, September 19th at 11 AM in Onemo, VA. It's open to the public. Besides of speakers, there will also be food and music. Don't worry - the "music" doesn't include me singing. ;-) This is in a part of the state that I don't get to go to often and I'm looking forward to being there. VCDL meeting this Thursday in Annandale *************************************************************** VCDL will have its monthly membership meeting this Thursday, September 17th, at the Mason Government Center in Annandale. The meeting formally starts at 8 PM, with fellowship beginning at 7:30 PM. The meeting is open to the public and you are encouraged to bring friends, family, coworkers. After the meeting the group will go to a local restaurant for continued fellowship. If you wish to carry at the restaurant, they do serve alcoholic beverages for on-premise consumption, so you will need to open carry to stay in compliance with state law. DC Police tried to make a VCDL EM remove an EMPTY HOLSTER at the 912 Project rally! *************************************************************** File this under, "I don't believe this baloney!" EM Patricia Webb reports that a DC police officer tried to make her take off her empty holster and appeared to be considering just confiscating it until he noticed several cameras filming him! Yeah, nothing like breaking the law while the cameras are rolling. The good news is that Pat stood her ground. I am expecting to have video soon. I'm sure glad the police in DC don't have any dangerous criminals to worry about. That gives them more time to harass a law-abiding woman over a piece of leather. ------------------------------------------- ***************************************************************************
