Reminder: VCDL membership meeting tonight in Annandale / Nightline will be there ****************************************************** VCDL will be having a membership meeting on Thursday, June 17th at 8 PM at the Mason Government Center. Fellowship starts at 7:30 PM. I have been contacted by ABC's Nightline and I expect they will have a reporter there. We will be discussing issues with Falls Church that have just cropped up, the recent NRA issue, VCDL's position on open vs concealed carry, as well as a variety of other things. As with all VCDL membership meetings, it is open to the public, so bring a friend! Afterwards, we will go to a local restaurant for continued fellowship. And for the final time I will make the following announcement: Since we may be at a restaurant that serves alcohol, if you choose to carry, be prepared to open carry. VCDL picnic to be held in Newport News on July 17th! ****************************************************** EM Ron Lilly, who is our Gun Show Coordinator for the Peninsula, has arranged for a VCDL picnic: The VCDL will be hosting a pot luck picnic at the Riverview Park in Newport News on Saturday, July 17th. This is a family event so all are welcome. Come out and enjoy some good food and fellowship with other freedom loving people at the park! The Riverview Park is located at 105 City Farm Road Newport News Virginia The picnic will begin at 11 AM and end at 2 PM. VCDL seeking a Richmond Gun Show Coordinator ****************************************************** EM Audrey Muehleisen is stepping down as one of VCDL's Richmond area coordinators. :-( We extend our thanks to Audrey for her years of work on behalf of VCDL at gun shows and events in Richmond. VCDL's regional coordinators are extremely important in spreading the word about VCDL throughout the state, informing the public about gun rights, and increasing our membership. VCDL is seeking a volunteer to join Paul Henick as a Richmond-area coordinator for gun shows and events. The coordinator's duties are to set up and take down the VCDL table before and after each gun show or event, schedule volunteers to staff the table, and submit a report to VCDL leadership after the event. The new coordinator will work with Paul to decide how to divide up responsibility for the gun shows in the Richmond area.
